Courtenay Griffiths QC
Barrister, 25 Bedford RowCategory: BSN Lifetime Achievement Award
Courtenay Griffiths QC has committed much of his 40 years in practice to the representation of individuals who are often marginalised in society. He devotes a great deal of his time and energy to mentor, develop and support juniors progressing in the profession. Courtenay has worked on high profile, politically sensitive international and criminal law cases including the first Damilola Taylor murder trial, the PC Blakelock murder trial and the Brighton bombing.
Despite his “big-ticket” cases, Courtenay has never lost focus on tackling issues of diversity. His open, courageous and fearless conversations about his experiences have been second to none and will no doubt continue to inspire generations to come.
