Sonia Janday

Sonia has helped to make Aviva more welcoming and inclusive for all ethnicities and cultures in a number of ways and has been pivotal in supporting the delivery of many fundamental changes in the organisation. These include implementing the RACE charter which includes providing leadership on race and ethnicity in Aviva, supporting and partnering with the Central Diversity Team on diversity mentoring and rolling out unconscious bias training across Aviva as well as developing an Origins Internship Programme. Promoting inclusion through events and programs, as Chair of Aviva Origins, Sonia organises Aviva’s celebration of major cultural events.

Sonia mentors/e-mentors numerous individuals in their academic and career development and is a member of the House of Lords Multicultural Professional Network Forum, sharing best practice on BAME diversity and inclusion, as well as being an Ambassador for the Women of the Future.
