Milambo Makani

Milambo is a trainee solicitor at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer. He is the Director of the Widening Access Network (WAN), a youth focused social enterprise committed to raising the aspirations of young people from disadvantaged backgrounds. Since July 2018, Milambo has helped to organise over 18 successful assembly presentations, workshops and panel talks throughout London, with the intention of giving back, sharing his story and fuelling the ambition of young people. These events have reached over 3,600 young people. Through WAN’s social media posts and videos, Milambo has reached over 30,000 young people across the UK, several of whom have got in touch with the desire to assist WAN in its mission.

Milambo has also coached over 200 students applying to City law firms. This involves mentoring, reviewing applications and running mock interviews. To date, he has helped 88 students interested in the legal profession to secure internships and graduate roles.
