ITV – Legal Social Mobility Partnership

Legal Social Mobility Partnership (‘LSMP’) is a volunteer-led, self-funded collaboration of over 70 law firms, professional sports teams and commercial organisations. It is dedicated to broadening access to the solicitor profession by delivering work insight, skills training and ongoing alumni support to secondary state school students who would not otherwise have access to the legal world. In 2017, the LSMP ran schemes in London, Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham, Bristol, Brighton and Reading, successfully unifying efforts to promote social mobility in the solicitor profession through direct partnerships with Aspiring Solicitors, the SRA, PRIME, In to University, The Access Project and the Sutton Trust.

The LSMP initiative aims to be more than a “quick fire” approach to increasing diversity in law, but works to provide students with quality work experience and dedicated assistance before during and after the students’ legal studies.
