Harry Matovu QCBrick Court Chambers (Charter for Black Talent)
Category: Diversity and Inclusion Initiative of the Year
Harry founded the Charter for Black Talent in Finance and the Professions, a cross-sectoral initiative to promote the recruitment and progression of Black professionals throughout the financial and professional services. The Charter is a unique initiative, which focusses on the inequities faced by talented Black professionals (the most under-represented ethnic group in these sectors).
The Charter has assembled an elite coalition of signatories and supporters from across these sectors to achieve, not only measurable change and the creation of pipelines of Black talent within their own organisations, but also fundamental cultural change and a new approach to Black talent across the entire sectors in order to embed true equality of opportunity for such talent to pursue truly fulfilling careers and to make a full contribution to the economy.
