Hogan Lovells (Trans inclusion initiative)
Category: Large Law Firm Diversity and Inclusion Initiative of the Year
WINNER: Hogan Lovells (Trans inclusion initiative)
At Hogan Lovells we believe we are at our best when we can be ourselves, working together and delivering for our clients. As such, Hogan Lovells launched a unique trans inclusion initiative. Its approach aims to ensure Hogan Lovells remains a diverse and inclusive place to work, free from workplace hostility and discrimination.
The bespoke trans training and policy offer advice on communicating to its people and clients – both in terms of educating and employing appropriate language – and covering practical considerations; as well as providing points of contact that can provide confidential support and answer questions. The policy outlines guidelines for transitioning gender in the workplace, including information on the resources and guidance the firm can offer. Hogan Lovells have long championed transgender rights in the workplace (and have represented transgender rights clients on a pro bono basis several times). This initiative has been supported by members of the firms leadership.
