Natalie Carter

Natalie is a commercial real estate solicitor at Mayer Brown International LLP. Natalie has worked tirelessly to improve diversity in the legal industry and was inspired to do so after participating in the first corporate law scheme run by Sponsors for Educational Opportunities in 2008. Natalie studied at the London School of Economics and was born and raised in Tottenham, London. During her time at university Natalie worked on many diversity programmes for the LSE including being a regular mentor and teacher on the AimHigher mentoring scheme in 2008, 2009 and 2010. Natalie has mentored young students under the Legal Launch Pad scheme run by the Black Lawyers Directory since 2011.

In 2013, Natalie joined Urban Lawyers as a co-director and began to broker relationships for Urban Lawyers with law firms such as Kingsley and Napley, Sullivan and Cromwell and Berwin Leighton Paisner. Natalie has run multiple events in conjunction with various law firms, chambers and organisations, which focus on explaining the application process to students from diverse backgrounds, building commercial awareness and CV and interview preparation. After receiving positive feedback from attendees and partner firms, Natalie curated Urban Lawyers’ first full day conference in February 2016.
